These are simply the things I recommend when they make starting easier, cleanup faster, or twenty minutes feel slightly more doable.

Free resources + helpful reads
Start here if twenty minutes to yourself currently feels suspiciously ambitious.
The ridiculously simple TOOLS / NOW / LATER system for making your hobbies easier to actually start.
Low-energy hobbies, creative resets, quiet things to do after bedtime, and other ways to remember you are, in fact, still a person.
Micro-hobby starter supplies
A good black pen and a little paper are genuinely enough. Start here if your brain feels loud and you want something repetitive without having to be particularly creative. (This is my favorite collection- I also love her instagram for fun ideas!)
A small hoop, a few floss colors, fabric, and needles.
Tiny grandma energy. Weirdly soothing. Still one of my favorites.
For the nights when making creative decisions sounds absolutely exhausting.
Someone else already decided where the blue goes. Bless them.
Quiet Basket Favorites
Novelty without a ton of setup. Keep them tucked away and bring them out during your reset so they stay mildly exciting.
Low mess, reusable, and easy enough to pull out without creating another activity for you to manage.
Small puzzles, reusable activity books, window clings, tracing pads, and other things that can buy you a few semi-peaceful minutes.
Hobby Cart Basics
Perfect if you want your hobby supplies visible, contained, and easy to roll directly next to the couch when you finally get twenty minutes.
I love these for half-finished projects because you can see what’s inside without opening seventeen containers looking for the thing you know you put somewhere safe.
For couch hobbies, bed hobbies, and hobbies attempted while someone is watching Bluey three feet away.
Also excellent for containing beads, pens, thread, and other tiny objects determined to disappear into your furniture.
Start with what you already have. Add something when it makes your life easier, not because the internet convinced you that you need seventeen new supplies before you're allowed to have a hobby.
Small pockets of time count.
